Nature source d-alpha tocopheryl succinate, or RRR-d-alpha tocohperyl succinate, is a natural source form of Vitamin E obtained from vacuum steam distillation of edible vegetable oil products. It is widely used as a source of Vitamin E in dietary supplement applications such as tableting.
Natural source d-alpha tocopheryl succinate is different from synthetic Vitamin E. Since synthetic Vitamin E is produced by chemical reactions from petrochemicals, it contains additional reaction products (stereoisomers) not normally found in nature. For this reason, natural source Vitamin E contains two times the Vitamin E activity of synthetic Vitamin E on a weight basis.
Natural source d-alpha tocopheryl succinate is a white, granular form of Vitamin E with very little odor or flavor. It is more stable than non-acetate forms of tocopherols. Storage practices for d-alpha tocopheryl succinate should include avoiding elevated storage temperatures, avoiding weight bearing conditions which might lead to compaction, and avoiding exposure to alkaline substances.
Natural source d-alpha tocopheryl succinate conforms to FCC requirements, is produced under certified ISO 9001, 14001, 22000 programs, and is certified Kosher and Halal. HPMC or ethyl cellulose may be added during spray coating of the product. Non-GM products are available on request.
